CM Punk Wanted Goldberg WWE Title Match

WWE Hall Of Famer Goldberg made his surprise return at RAW Legends Night in January. He then proceeded to challenge Drew McIntyre for the WWE Championship at the Royal Rumble pay-per-view.

The announcement was met with a lot of negative backlash as fans lambasted the company for having Goldberg in the title match. Many feared that Goldberg would go on to defeat Drew McIntyre at the Royal Rumble.

The WWE Championship match was the first match of the night at the Royal Rumble event. The match turned out to be a short affair, which ended with Drew McIntyre delivering a devastating Claymore Kick and successfully defending his WWE Championship.

Frank the Clown took to Twitter recently, where he said that he wanted to see Goldberg defeat Drew McIntyre for the WWE Championship just to see the world burn.

I want Goldberg to win so badly just to watch the world burn. #RoyalRumble

In a surprising moment, CM Punk himself decided to reply to Frank the Clown’s tweet. Punk stated that there is still time for Goldberg to win the WWE Championship.

There’s still time

Many fans were hoping that CM Punk would make his WWE return at this year’s Royal Rumble event, but that did not happen.
