Cody on AEW moonsault off the cage: “Literally, I have nightmares about it”

Variety has a featured article up on their website with comments from several high-ranking officials and talents at All Elite Wrestling commenting about the one-year anniversary of the promotion.

One of those who are featured in the article is AEW Executive Vice President and former TNT Champion “The American Nightmare” Cody.

During his portion of the article, Cody talks about still having nightmares as a result of the moonsault off the top of the steel cage that he executed in his match against Wardlow, as well as his love in general for the AEW promotion as a whole.

Featured below are some highlights of comments made by Cody in the Variety article on AEW’s one-year anniversary.

On still feeling the affects of his moonsault off the top of the cage during his AEW match against Wardlow:

“I should have never done it. Literally I have nightmares about it because the cage was too tall. And I’ve not been the same since I hit the ground. I remember telling Brandi [Rhodes] ‘I think I might have had a mini heart attack.'”

On seeing AEW as his child and being in love with the promotion:

“I don’t have children, so this is my child. It really is my baby in terms of how I feel about AEW and how I feel about the roster. Even people who are older than me, I think of them as my kids. So I feel very strongly about it. And I think we’ve had a wonderful year so I’m in love with AEW.”
