Cody Rhodes claims that AEW will not be signing recently released former WWE Tag Team Champion

All Elite Wrestling Executive Vice-President and Superstar, Cody Rhodes recently hosted a Q&A session on his official Instagram handle and answered a host of questions in regards to his promotion AEW.

 


 

During the Q&A, Cody was asked if he was interested in signing recently released WWE superstar Heath Slater and if he was willing to recruit the services of the former WWE Tag Team Champion in AEW.

Cody, without any hesitation, claimed that AEW is not interested in signing Slater and when asked, the former ‘American Nightmare’ stated the following:

“Nope! No on Heath Slater.”

For those who are unaware, WWE recently released a host of superstars and backstage personnel amid the on-going COVID-19 global pandemic which has certainly caused a crisis. Along with the likes of Rusev, EC3, and Sarah Logan, former four-time WWE Tag Team Champion, Heath Slater was also let-go off his contract.

Slater initially came up to WWE’s main roster back in 2010 as part of The Nexus faction which was led by Wade Barrett and was one of the only few remaining members of the faction. Now that Cody himself has confirmed Slater won’t be signing with AEW, it remains to be seen what’s next in store for ‘The One Man Band’ and if he will opt for a run on the Independent Circuit or not.
