Recently, Cody Rhodes held a Q&A on Twitter, answering questions from fans while he had free time.
Rhodes was asked his opinion on people doing Dusty impressions, whether or not he’s getting a pop vinyl, and what kinds of matches he’d like to participate in that he hasn’t yet.
During this time, someone asked if Vince McMahon holds talent back that come from NXT. Cody’s response was interesting, and honestly, quite mature.
He doesn't hold anybody back. A lot of times it's hard for fans to accept that some of their favorites have a ways to go or that they become lazy after they get that first LE check. Stardust for example didn't go beyond tag gold cuz' I wasn't improving & I also got outta' shape. https://t.co/PJstDITaMp

When accused of backtracking to try to get a return to the company, Rhodes responded with this.
I've never said I was being held back. Never. The context of the question can change my answers. I'm sure sometimes I sound bitter or sometimes I sound humble. Fans who follow me get a more clear picture of who I am.
You're insane if you think I can do @ALL_IN_2018 and a return. https://t.co/b1GPLEjzQk
