In the official main event of AEW Full Gear, Cody Rhodes challenged Chris Jericho for the AEW World Title. However, he was unsuccessful in securing the win as MJF threw in the towel for Cody and then turned heel on him.
During the match, Cody took a dive right onto the ramp and busted himself open very badly. Even though the bleeding was stopped, Rhodes still had a big gash on his head.
AEW gave an update on Cody’s condition following AEW Full Gear. It took eight stitches to close up the wound and he is currently not cleared for an in-ring return.
It was certainly a terrible laceration that could have been worse. We will get to know when Rhodes will make his return to the ring. He will certainly confront MJF on his actions.
