The former AEW EVP Cody Rhodes is likely to make his highly-anticipated return to WWE at WrestleMania 38. It was also speculated that he would return at WWE’s recent live event at the iconic Madison Square Garden and might face either WWE Champion Brock Lesnar or WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns. However, WWE never had plans for that. But, what the company is planning for ‘The American Nightmare’ is a private flight to avoid any publicity before his return.
WWE has huge plans for Cody Rhodes
There have been several speculations regarding WWE’s plan to sign Rhodes. Fightful Select recently reported that those who are close to Rhodes snubbed the fact that his Sunday travel was due to WrestleMania. On the contrary, WWE sources have revealed that they internally discussed flying Rhodes in private.
The outlet further stated that flying Rhodes privately is being done in order to keep him away from the eye of the public when he arrives at the airport right before WrestleMania. The fans might just see Rhodes make an in-ring return to WWE at the big event as he is likely to face Seth Rollins at the marquee show.
Here is what the report stated:
“While those close to Rhodes denied that his Sunday travel was set to WrestleMania, WWE sources have indicated that they’d internally discussed flying Rhodes in private in order to avoid the publicity of him popping up at an airport before WrestleMania.”
WrestleMania 38 will take place on Saturday, April 2 and Sunday, April 3 from AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas. Fans are excited for the event as they might finally witness the return of ‘The American Nightmare’ at the show.
A Reddit rumor states Steve Austin will headline Night 1 with Kevin Owens, and Cody Rhodes will face Seth Rollins on Night 2.
