Cody Rhodes unfazed by AEW losing major supporter in TNT

As reported earlier, Kevin Reilly was fired from his position as the President of TBS. He was a huge supporter of AEW and is a good friend of Tony Khan. He is much of the reason why AEW secured the TV deal with TNT in the first place.

Khan credited Eric Bischoff and his work in WCW which enabled him to talk about the return of professional wrestling to TNT with Reilly. Before he met Khan, Reilly had no idea regarding TNT’s past with professional wrestling.

Cody Rhodes took to Twitter, where he commented on Reilly’s firing from WarnderMedia. While it certainly could be a big blow to AEW, Rhodes assured fans it will not have a major impact on the company as they are still doing very well.

No. We have been blessed to have had so many viewers(even opposed), thus the 3+ year extension. It’s a great partnership!

AEW is continuing to bring in many viewers, especially securing a good position in the 18-48 key demographic. They also signed a 3-year extension with TNT last year, so fans will get to see more content for a while.

Should we fans be worried about the future of AEW with the changes of management in time warner/tnt 😓😓😢😢
