There have been a lot of rumors and speculation about NJPW’s relationship with the Elite and why the company has not developed a working relationship with AEW despite it seeming like the obvious choice.
The AEW officials have also made different comments about the situation with Cody Rhodes previously saying that the door has been opening and closing but the Young Bucks claiming that “The door has not opened up at all.”
Rhodes was recently interviewed by Wrestling Observer where he was once again asked about a potential relationship with the Japanese company and the former WWE star claimed that they are open for business:
”I don’t know what the future holds on that. I know they focus on their brand and we focus on ours, but I’ll take a phrase from Nick Jackson. We’re open for business. If the best wrestlers are out there, we want to make sure the best wrestlers are part of what we’re doing…if you’re truly gonna live the spirit of all All Elite Wrestling then you’ve got to keep your mind and your eyes and your ears open to all that’s out there.”
Cody Rhodes also commented on the rumors of bad blood between NJPW officials and the Elite saying that everyone is still in contact and the situation is not as bad as it’s being reported.
