Conor McGregor opens up on the injury

The Notorious One did not hold back from speaking what was on his mind regarding the injury. He took to his Instagram account recently and talked about the injury sitting in a wheelchair.

He said that he was injured before the fight as he was having stress fractures. He also opened up on dealing with leg injuries all his career.

Here is what he said:

“I was injured going into the fight. I had stress fractures going into that cage. I had trouble with the ankles over the years from fighting all the time. I was wrapping my ankle after every ankle session. I needed to get treatment on my leg. I needed to get treatment on the ankle, and I need to get treatment on the shin bone.”

McGregor said that he needed a titanium shin bone and now he has one. He said:

“What I needed was a titanium shin bone. So now I’ve got a titanium rod down the ankle. The doctor said it’s unbreakable. Once I manage the incision, the cut, make sure it doesn’t get infected, keep building back that way. Then I’ll start playing with the balance, learning how to stand on it again.”

He added:

“I feel like I’m in Terminator 2.”

He is likely to miss the rest of the 2021 campaign as he will require some months to heal.
