Brie Bella hasn’t exactly received much praise since her return to the ring last month. A handful of botches earned her quite a bit of criticism from the WWE Universe. However, after Liv Morgan sustained a concussion on Monday Night Raw, the heat was turned up.
Brie’s coworkers have come to her defense over the past few days, including Corey Graves.
Graves responded to a friend of his who had gone after PWI‘s Mike Johnson, who said that injuries happen.
You just compared Brie Bella to Stan Hansen. https://t.co/kMXg6KbgTI

Graves pointed out that he doesn’t hold a grudge after his career was ended years ago, and that injuries happen all the time in WWE.
Accurately so. Especially in this day and age full of “experts.” Accidents happen. I had my career ended because of them, and I harbor no ill will. It’s not ballet. Screw everyone that thinks they know/can do better.
I wish all of the “smart” fans were actually smart. https://t.co/l8ND6Xjxi0

Graves’ friend attempted to say that the “accidents happen” argument is no excuse for Brie, who he feels lacks the ability needed at the top level.
This was when Graves became a bit more frustrated with the discussion.
Ryan, you’re my friend. But, I will gladly die on the hill that the business that made you and I fans, has changed. My outlook has changed. It doesn’t mean you’re wrong. Just that the “it wasn’t as good as Kobashi in 97” mindset doesn’t work anymore. https://t.co/edR6hGf0pS

Graves continued to debate with other fans all while stating that he isn’t trying to insult anyone.
I’m not taking anybody to task. I’m just saying that if the fans who “know” our business actually knew our business, they would understand. The grind. The schedule. If they truly knew, they wouldn’t be so quick to throw stones. https://t.co/76vEMBiYQb

Remember that time you had a bad day at work, and all of the internet decided to tear you to shreds because they know better than you about YOUR job?

Listen to me. You are not going to win this argument with me. I LITERALLY had my in-ring career ended by an accident. I don’t care how many websites you read. Or how many shows you watch, you will not win this one. https://t.co/GdguL341n5
