Corey Graves has been part of the commentary team for a long time now. However, his recent comments on child abuse has drawn some attention.
Corey Graves makes bold comments on Raw
PWInsider recently held the Q&A session. They were asked about his comments that he said when a kid stole something, his dad beats him. One of the fans caught notice of the comment made by the former NXT star and raised question about it.
It read:
“Did I really hear Corey Graves say on Raw that when you steal something as a kid, your dad beats you? What was he thinking?”
Dave Scherer of PWInsider responded to the fan. He said Graves might have been trying to play a heel.
He noted that had these comments been made on an indie show, it would have possibly been fine but in WWE that promotes Be A Star campaign, it is not tolerable. AEW Star Drops Brock Lesnar Meeting Bombshell
He said:
“I guess he was thinking he was being a heel, or just didn’t think at all. On an indy show? Fine. On a company with a Be A Star campaign and trying to be kid friendly? That wasn’t a great thing to say.”
Graves has been associated with commentary in WWE, he is an analyst as well as worked in the role of presenter.
A Remark like this from a veteran could come out as a surprise. We will see what action WWE Chairman Vince McMahon takes about this matter.
