Cris Cyborg Drops Jake Paul Bombshell

The Bellator Women’s Featherweight Champion Cris Cyborg recently opened up on the YouTuber-turned-pro-boxer Jake Paul, who picked up a victory against former UFC welterweight champion Tyron Woodley and said on Adam Carolla that:

“A lot of boxers don’t like it, but I believe it’s very good for the sports. It shows a lot of new fans, fans of Jake Paul come to follow MMA and boxing. [Paul vs. Woodley] was a great fight.”

Eddie Hearn says Jake Paul will face difficulty in making money

In a conversation with Fight Hype, Matchroom promoter Eddie Hearn gave his take on the latest YouTuber fight between Jake Paul and Tyron Woodley. Hearn estimated that the in-the-ring product Paul has been putting on is starting to fall a little flat and he believes that Paul should just look to cash in against a big name instead of trying to sell a fight against someone like Tommy Fury. “If I’m Jake Paul now I’m going ‘let’s be honest, it’s getting a bit boring and it’s going to get harder to make this kind of money,” Hearn said. “‘Let’s just fight Conor McGregor,’ or something like that. Let’s go the bank and let’s make it 170-something — if he can get down there — and let’s almost end this now. Because it’s like, I haven’t watched the whole fight but I watched some of it and it was pretty bad and it’s gonna get worse and worse. So I think just cash in. But I don’t see any harm to boxing.

“I think the biggest thing is it just puts boxing under more pressure to produce because they’re doing good numbers…Manny Pacquiao did 200,000 buys (against Ugas) so you have to be careful in the sport that this doesn’t become the norm, because I don’t want that as the norm.”
