Cris Cyborg is undoubtedly one of the most popular and distinguished fights in the entire MMA world. She is Bellator Women’s Featherweight Champion, having held the title since January of 2020. Not only is Cyborg one of the most celebrated female mixed martial artists in her field but she is one of the most successful as she hasn’t lost a fight in several years. That loss came against Amanda Nunes at UFC 232 on December 29th, 2018.
MMA icon Fedor Emelianenko announced his retirement from the sport after a successful career, following his bout at Bellator 290. During the post-fight press conference, Cris Cyborg, the women’s featherweight champion at Bellator, expressed her admiration and well wishes for “The Last Emperor.”
“I’m a big fan of yours. I started my career watching your fights. [Watching] You beating everybody like [it’s] nothing in the ring. When I watch your fights, it motivates me. And for sure everything I do in the ring [is] because [I] learned a lot from watching your fights. And I wish the best for you… for the next chapter of your career, in your life, I wish the best.”
