Cat Zingano reveals she wanted to fight Cris Cyborg

Speaking to SUNSPORT Zingano said that she doesn’t want to disrespect her opponent Pam Sorenson by talking about Cris Cyborg. However, She admitted that her ultimate goal with the promotion is to win the Women’s Featherweight belt, which is currently held by Cyborg.

The 145lbs fighter stated that she’s fed up with the champion trash-talking her on social media, and admitted that she told Bellator brass that she wanted to ultimately fight Cyborg when she signed to fight for the promotion. But Zingano went on to state that there must be Independent testing in place for a fight between the pair to ever happen.

She said:

“I want to fight Cris Cyborg but I do want there to be drug testing – and they said cool – and it kind of rolled off in conversation, and it was no problem. Independent drug testing – you do it and I do it. So every fight I’ve had since then – and every fight she has had since then – we’ve mentioned one another in the post-fight press conferences. It was always crickets after. I didn’t hear anything from her, and she didn’t hear anything about me – even after all these callouts. And the phone calls I’d get from Bellator about my next fight were never her. It was always other people. For this announcement, they were calling around giving me different opponents, and again – none of them were her, and then I see her in the news again talking s***.

Cat Zingano is set to face Pam Sorenson at Bellator 276 next month.
