Current ROH Champion’s contract expiring soon

With the increased competition in the wrestling world, the news of any big name hitting the independent scene becomes the talk of the town instantly and latest report suggests that one such star has his contract expiring soon.

Pwinsider is reporting that the current ROH World Heavyweight Champion Matt Taven’s contract is set to expire at the end of September.

Matt Taven made some sporadic appearance for ROH from 2010 to 2012 and after his tryouts with the company in 2012 he has been a regular for the promotion.

Since his debut, he has won half a dozen titles in the company and the ROH Championship win at the G1 Supercard event in April this year made him the fifth Triple Crown champion of the company.

There is no word yet on what Taven is planning for his future but it’s likely that other companies will show interest in him if he decides to leave the promotion after his contract expires.
