Dana White Drops Julianna Pena Assault Bombshell

At UFC 269, Julianna Peña shocked the world as she did the unthinkable and made Amanda Nunes tap out in the second round of their bantamweight title fight. Afterwards, Julianna Peña paid a direct homage to Nate Diaz.

Back in 2014, Julianna Pena suffered a traumatic knee injury in a very unorthodox fashion. The current UFC women’s bantamweight champion was getting ready to train at her gym but was jumped on and neck-cranked by a male who was training at the facility, according to Dana White on  MMA Fighting.

“He jumped on her back, started cranking her neck, and the way she fell her knee blew out. The most disgusting thing I’ve ever heard in my life. A year-and-a-half to two years she’ll be out, and I told her to leave that disgusting gym and go somewhere else with new coaches, new training partners, whatever. And that’s all I know.

It sounds like assault to me, but how do you consider it assault in a gym? You know what I mean?”
