David Shaw replaced Dana White at the UFC 284 press conference. He is the premier MMA promotion’s Senior Vice President for International Operations and Content. As per his LinkedIn profile, he started his corporate journey as the co-founder of Ontario-based in-taxi cab advertising and payment processing solutions company to Market Inc.
Shaw first started working for the MMA promotion as its Senior Director of Business and Sports Development for Canada, Australia, and the New Zealand region in August 2010.
He then rose to the rank of VP of commercial pay-per-view development in 2013, then held the promotion’s VP of content post in 2016 before landing his current designation as the Senior Vice President for International Operations.
It has been noted that David Shaw’s current duties in the promotions include overseeing UFC’s parent organization Zuffa’s global operations in various metropolises around the world.
He commands a team of more than 50 international employees aimed at maximizing the promotion’s revenue streams from content partnerships from pay-per-view, digital, and TV rights. Shaw has been with the American promotion for well over a decade at this point. It is safe to say that he had a great time performing the usual duties of announcing stats and fight bonuses for UFC 284 during the post-fight presser since the event broke some notable records.
