Daniel Bryan ‘Quitting’ Message To WWE Leaks

Former WWE Champion Daniel Bryan rose to superstardom in 2014 thanks to his organic rise as a babyface, culminating in him winning both the WWE and World Heavyweight Championships at WrestleMania 30 after Bryan defeated Randy Orton and Batista in a triple threat match. Daniel Bryan’s recent cryptic tweet was leaked to AEW fans.

On last week’s episode of Friday Night Smackdown, Daniel Bryan faced off against Roman Reigns for the WWE Universal Championship in the main event of the show. Despite competing to the best of his ability, Daniel Bryan was unable to win the match and was banned from Friday Night Smackdown as a result of his loss. His contract also expired last week and many fans have been wondering where he will go next. Bryan told WWE he’d be leaving before WrestleMania.

Dave Meltzer and Bryan Alvarez discussed Daniel Bryan’s exit from WWE on the latest Wrestling Observer Radio. They stated that Daniel Bryan knew before WrestleMania 37 that he will be leaving WWE.

“I knew something was up on Saturday because I had asked somebody, ‘so where’s he going? Raw, NXT, or what’s the deal?’ I got an interesting message on that. It was basically a message that kind of said — it talked some about that maybe he’s gonna leave which made me believe that his contract was coming due and he did an interview just a couple of days ago where he said everybody thinks my contract is due in September because he signed [his last deal] in September…whatever it is, it was until April 30.”

I guess he was gonna give them [until] right after WrestleMania in 2021, which is why all those promos were that this could be my last WrestleMania because his contract was coming due…the agreement was that he would go through this WrestleMania….yea, he’s a free agent. He can go anywhere he wants tomorrow…”
