Daniel Bryan’s absence from TV is due to family issues

Daniel Bryan has been virtually absent from WWE television for many weeks now. He last competed at the Intercontinental Title Final on 26th May of this year. There is a reason for that and it is not what people think.

While he is still part of the WWE Creative team, it is unlikely he will be back for in-ring action for now. He and his wife Brie Bella welcomed their first son into the world in August. According to a report by  Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Bryan’s absence started following a segment featuring Bryan, Styles, and Renee Young. After this segment, it was discovered that both Young and Styles tested positive for the COVID-19 virus.

Bryan has not returned although he has taped things for SmackDown and is now on the creative team. His not returning to Orlando also coincided with his wife being deep into her pregnancy so it was likely a precautionary measure, although his wife also had expressed concerns of him continuing to work because of his weakened immune system and it’s now been a month since she gave birth.

It seems it will be a while until we see Bryan return again as he does not want to take any risks currently. We will have to see what the company will have planned for him upon his return.
