Darby Allin on why he does not watch WWE

Darby Allin’s unique gothic-inspired character has certainly made him very popular with fans in All Elite Wrestling. It seems he has gone through a great deal of effort to craft his character.

Allin recently spoke to Alfred Konuwa of Forbes. During the interview, the TNT Champion revealed that he does not watch WWE, nor does he follow any other pro wrestling promotions besides AEW.

Allin explained that he has no desire of having his character getting influenced by what he could see in other pro wrestling companies.

“I just watch skating videos. That’s it,” “I don’t want to be inspired by anything. I want my body of work to be its own thing.”

He then said that while he respects other pro wrestlers for what they do, he does not want to be inspired by them.

“I know it’s like that with skaters, a lot of skaters don’t watch certain videos because they don’t want their skating to be inspired just like I do with wrestling,” he said. “I respect everybody’s hard work and stuff, but there comes a point where I just want to be in my own brain about things, I don’t want to be inspired by anybody.”

Allin will be defending his TNT Title against Brian Cage at AEW’s New Year’s Smash Night 2 next year.
