Throughout NXT tonight, Dexter Lumis was seen sketching on a perch. It was later revealed that the art he was working on was an announcement.

NXT’s newest special episode is set for January 6, 2021, and it appears Dexter Lumis will host. Commentary pointed out during tonight’s episode that Lumis doesn’t speak, so is an unusual choice for host.
This would be the second Event to have a host, with the previous special “Halloween Havoc” hosted by Shotzi Blackheart. This could be a new direction for NXT, perhaps using these event hosting duties to provide a new form of character development. Since the events of Halloween Havoc, Shotzi has been a focal point of NXT’s women’s division. Dexter Lumis may be looking at an expanded role in 2021.
