Donald Trump Attacks Wheelchair Bound Governor

Former President Donald Trump expressed his disappointment and frustration towards Texas Governor Greg Abbott for not supporting recently impeached Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton. Taking to his social media platform, Truth Social, Trump questioned the wheelchair bound Governor’s absence in standing by Paxton, who faced impeachment following serious allegations of bribery, corruption, and abuse of office.

The impeachment vote against Paxton was historic, with a resounding majority of 121-23 in favor of his removal from office. Under Texas law, Paxton will be temporarily suspended from his position until the conclusion of a state senate trial. To permanently oust Paxton, a conviction would require all 12 Democrats in the senate to vote in favor, along with at least nine of the 19 Republicans. Notably, among the Republican senators is Angela Paxton, Ken Paxton’s wife, who will have to consider allegations that her husband facilitated a job for his mistress through a prominent donor.

Governor Abbott has been a prominent figure in national media, often appearing on cable news to discuss various issues, particularly focusing on the border. He has been a staunch supporter of former President Trump, and in return, Trump has praised Abbott as one of the hardest working and most effective Attorney Generals in the United States. Trump also expressed his hope that Texas Republicans in the House would oppose the impeachment process, calling it unfair and vowing to fight against it if it proceeds.

The silence from Governor Abbott regarding Paxton’s impeachment has raised eyebrows, especially considering their previously aligned political views and support for each other. Trump’s criticism of Abbott suggests a rift between the two prominent figures within the Texas Republican Party, highlighting the political complexities surrounding the impeachment proceedings and the potential ramifications for Texas politics as a whole.

MISSING IN ACTION!” Trump wrote. “Where is the Governor of Texas on his Attorney General’s Impeachment?”

one of the most hard working and effective Attorney Generals in the United States. Trump added, “Hopefully Republicans in the Texas House will agree that this is a very unfair process that should not be allowed to happen or proceed—I will fight you if it does.”
