Donald Trump ‘Extortion’ Bombshell Revealed

According to Daily Mail, Donald Trump’s lawyer, Jim Trusty, has strongly criticized federal prosecutors and vowed to investigate their alleged misconduct after the former president was indicted on seven federal charges related to classified documents. Trusty appeared on CNN shortly after the news broke, denouncing the indictment as a “corrupt and politicized” process.

One of Trusty’s main allegations was directed at Jay Bratt, a federal prosecutor who heads the counterintelligence section of the Department of Justice’s National Security Division. Trusty claimed that Bratt had coerced the lawyer representing former Trump aide Walt Nauta, using the possibility of a judgeship appointment as leverage to secure Nauta’s cooperation against Trump. According to Trusty, Bratt mentioned during a meeting with Nauta’s lawyer, Stanley Woodward, that Woodward had applied for a judgeship in D.C., insinuating that the appointment could be granted if Nauta cooperated.

Trusty went so far as to accuse the prosecutors involved, including Bratt, of engaging in “criminal activity” and called for an investigation into their actions. He alleged that Bratt and five other DOJ officials had extorted Woodward, a highly respected lawyer, by pressuring him to flip his client against Trump in exchange for the judgeship.

Drawing from Trump’s playbook, Trusty emphasized the need to scrutinize the prosecutors involved, highlighting their conduct during the meeting with Woodward. He referred to a report by The Guardian that detailed the encounter, in which prosecutors allegedly brought up the judgeship application while seeking Nauta’s cooperation. Trusty underscored the seriousness of the incident, citing Woodward’s court filings that described the meeting and Bratt’s comments.

Trusty expressed a desire for further investigation and discovery into the alleged misconduct by the prosecutors. He emphasized the need to examine internal communications, such as text messages or emails, that could provide evidence of the extortion. Trusty also mentioned Trump’s allies in the House of Representatives, who had established a special subpanel focused on investigating government “weaponization” in light of the ongoing probes into Trump.
