Drew McIntyre Cryptic AEW Rumor Leaks

WWE star Drew McIntyre recently joined Sportskeeda Wrestling for an interview and spoke about the potential partnership with New Japan Pro Wrestling (NJPW). He further discussed the possibility of a match that he had teased with Kazuchika Okada.

 


 

Drew McIntyre says there is no ‘forbidden door’

There have been talks of ‘forbidden door’ which means WWE will not allow working relationship with other companies.

But recently AEW star Chris Jericho appeared on the Steve Austin podcast and there have been reports of a working relationship with NJPW. Undertaker Offered Return Outside Of WWE?

During the interview, McIntyre said there was no such ‘forbidden door’. He said;

“There’s never been a forbidden door as such. I think it’s just if this makes sense for our company and for everybody else then WWE’s always going to do business and that’s what we’re all about. So I would love for it to make sense. I’m going to keep trying to find reasons for it to make sense business wise.”

Previously,  Dave Meltzer mentioned in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter about NJPW exclusively working with WWE as well. He said:

“In what could end up being among the biggest wrestling stories of the year, or a non-story, depending on the end result, Nick Khan has been in talks with New Japan Pro Wrestling about WWE being the exclusive American partner with the promotion.”

We will have to see what future holds for WWE. The Scottish Warrior is set to challenge Bobby Lashley for the WWE Championship inside Hell In A Cell at the namesake pay-per-view.
