On Night 2 of WrestleMania 36, Drew McIntyre captured the WWE Championship by defeating Brock Lesnar, who also happens to be a former UFC Heavyweight Champion.
Since winning the title, McIntyre has caught the attention of several well-reputed fighters including Tyson Fury and UFC’s welterweight sensation, Colby Covington.
The former interim UFC Welterweight Champion recently told Submission Radio that he would like to face and defeat McIntyre in a match, as Covington aims to “make wrestling great again”.
“Me and Drew McIntyre is a good match-up. He’s a big guy, but it’s not the size of the dog in the fight, it’s the size of the fight in the dog, and everybody knows the big fight is in me,” So, I just think I can beat any man alive right now and I’m the best in the world, so they need to let me go over there and make wrestling real again.”- said Covington.
On Friday morning, McIntyre took to Twitter and responded to ‘Chaos’ by reminding him of his recent loss to UFC Welterweight Champion, Kamaru Usman at UFC 245.
Surprised you’re still running your mouth @ColbyCovMMA after what @USMAN84kg did to it… https://t.co/hOH1wXe9gc

Covington recently claimed that he is willing to make a jump to the world of Pro Wrestling and join WWE in 2021. And, given the recent confrontation between him and McIntyre, could we actually witness Covington challenge ‘The Scottish Psychopath’ in the future?
