Drew McIntyre revealed to Kayla Braxton on Raw Talk that he plans on main eventing WrestleMania against Bobby Lashley for the WWE Title on Raw Talk. Wrestling Edge recapped and transcribed McIntyre’s comments. A McIntyre vs. Roman Reigns title match rumor leaked.
McIntyre said ‘outside of a three week blip’ when he dropped the title to Randy Orton, he was almost champion for one year ‘from one WrestleMania’ to the next.
“Miz and Lashley screwed that up, but there’s no way I’m not going to work my way into that main event of WrestleMania.”
McIntyre added that he’s done the ‘impossible’ and will do it again for WrestleMania.
One fan commented on the Raw Talk video, “We need Lashley vs. Lesnar at WrestleMania, with Lashley winning to show that he is a dominant champ. McIntyre can win it back down the road.”
Another added, “Lesnar isn’t under contract and isn’t even remotely in the picture. Lashley has been booked dominantly since he won the US title originally. He can afford to take an L at mania to put over Drew as the mega face he is.”
One more fan added, “I want Drew to main event one of the nights of Mania? I absolutely do, but I don’t want him to beat Lashley, please, this time around Drew has to lose.”
