During After The Bell, Drew McIntyre said that he plans on winning the Royal Rumble, which he has been saying for the past few weeks. He said that he signed with the company when he was 21 years old and now he is 34. So he is due for a World Title match.

McIntyre did take a break from WWE after his release in 2014. However, he is yet to get a World Title match in the company. He is currently one of the favorites to win the Royal Rumble match, which will guarantee him a shot at the World Title.
