Dustin Poirier Leaks ‘Embarrassing’ Conor McGregor Emails

Dustin Poirier has been known as one of the most charitable men in UFC history with Poirier has his own charity in which he is president of called ‘The Good Fight’. The charity, which is a nonprofit, was set up by the top fighter to help those in need. However, Poirier’s foundation had been in the middle of some behind the scenes drama ahead of the highly anticipated showdown next month against his rival, Conor McGregor. McGregor promised to donate half a million dollars after their last fight, which took place at UFC 257 earlier this year. Dustin Poirier recently made this Conor McGregor ‘family’ claim.

While Poirier said things were initially communicative between the two fighters, things went south after Poirier defeated McGregor and handed him his first loss in the UFC. This meant that the promise of the donation went silent. Poirier would make the following remarks on the UFC 264 Countdown. Credit to SportsKeeda for the following transcriptions.

“Fight week he said he was going to donate some money to my foundation, The Good Fight Foundation. His team reached out to my foundation, fight week, and were very responsive. Replied to emails daily. Got all of our banking info for the foundation to start the transfer of funds.”

Poirier continued: “The fight happens, they completely stop responding to emails. So that’s why I went public with the tweet. He was being cute online, saying he has a prediction. That he’s going to knock me out with a front kick. And I said you also predicted a donation to my foundation. So I was just kinda poking back at him.”

Dustin Poirier’s UFC 264 paycheck deal just leaked. Poirier concluded: “I never want to associate my foundation or the work we’ve done with negativity. And a dispute about a donation is negative. He ended up donating five hundred thousand dollars to the Boys and Girls Club of Acadiana. A great charity. The money’s gonna go where it needs to. It will help the youth in South Louisiana. So charity wins in the end.”
