EC3 on being fired right after pitching new gimmick in WWE

EC3’s run in WWE has been subjected to a lot of criticism. Fans believed that WWE never utilized him to the best of his abilities. He was released by the promotion earlier this year.

The former WWE Superstar recently spoke to Chris Van Vliet, where he discussed quite a few topics. He mentioned how he intended to request his WWE release, but was unable to do that due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

“The only thing that kept me there? It was the fact that I’m like ‘oh man there is a pandemic. My parents have a small business, my family might need it. I can’t pass up that money, they might need it.’”

He then talked about pitching an idea for a character inspired by Fight Club. He revealed he was fired by WWE shortly after pitching the idea to Vince McMahon.

“Around WrestleMania time I was coming back from a pretty serious concussion that cost me about five or six months. That really changed my life and really made me think about this character.”

“I pitched this idea. I’m a decent writer, I was typing it up, this real great thing, and I included a promo with it. I send it in on a Wednesday, and two hours later I got fired!”

After his WWE release, EC3 made his way to Impact Wrestling where he worked for a while. Following that, he joined ROH. We will have to see what is next in store in his career.
