ECW Champion Debuts On WWE NXT

WWE and ECW have a long history with each other. What originally started off as two companies going head to head ended up becoming one of the biggest merger flops in wrestling history. Recently, an ECW champion made their debut on NXT. The number of ECW champions is filled with many legendary names, so who could this be? Indi Hartwell ‘Botches’ Dexter Lumis NXT Match.

On the recent episode of NXT we saw former ECW champion, Steve Corino featured during a video package showcasing Kushida’s cruiserweight title win on NXT. Corino is most notable for his time in ECW and ROH, but is now a trainer for WWE as well as a producer for NXT.

To overview some highlights the 4/20 (No, Matt Riddle was not featured) episode of NXT we saw a big show that included lots of surprises, title changes, and some new faces. Adam Cole and Kyle O’Reily returned to NXT action as the week previous saw the two on the way to a medical facility.

Sarray had been talked about and hyped for over a month and finally arrived at NXT to have a match with Zoey Stark. The match was filled with lots of great action as Beth Phoenix was also really into the match. Sarray took this match the distance with Zoey, but Sarray ended up getting the win tonight.

Speaking of Kushida, an open challenge was proposed to anyone willing to take the bait. Oney Lorcan heads to the ring and we have a match on our hands. The match featured lots of great spots throughout the match only to see Koshida lock in the Hoverboard Lock. Lorcan taps. Kushida retains.
