Eddie Kingston reveals how he almost quit being a professional wrestler

Eddie Kingston is set to compete in one of the biggest matches of his career. He will be challenging Jon Moxley for the AEW World Championship at AEW Full Gear in an I Quit match. It seems Kingston was very close to hanging up his boots for good last year.

TSN recently spoke to Kingston, where they discussed his professional wrestling career. He opened up about a very frank conversation he had with his brother. Kingston wanted to leave the business for good, but his brother said he could not as his nephew needs someone to look to who will never quit.

“My brother, being my brother, gave me a little speech and he was basically like, ‘Hey man, I need you to help me with my son, with your nephew, and show him how to be a man and everything,’ And I was like, ‘Yeah, of course. Why are you even asking me this?’ And he just goes, ‘Well, I only have one problem – how can I tell my son never to quit, never to give up when his uncle did?’ I was like, ‘Excuse me?’ and he said, ‘How can I tell him never to quit when you’re quitting wrestling?’ And that just made me go, ‘Okay, well I guess I’m not quitting now,’ and I’m doing it for my nephew.”

Kingston has worked very hard in his 18-year career to get where he is now. He faced many adversities in his life and has yet to give up. We will have to see how his match against Moxley goes.
