Edge on why he chose Randy Orton for WrestleMania

Edge made his return to WWE after a 9-year absence from the company. For his first match back, he wanted to work with someone he trusted. It turned out to be Randy Orton.

The WWE Hall Of Famer spoke on WWE Backstage. He said that working with Orton was what he wanted. Edge said that when he came back and sat down to think, the idea that Orton should be his opponent and how the whole feud would go just came naturally.

He thinks that when Orton really “sinks his teeth” into something, no wrestler can do it better. He went on to praise Orton further, saying that he goes to another level without even realising it in such feuds. He thinks that such was the case in this feud and added that he had fun being part of it.

He said that when there was a live audience in attendance, they gave the reactions that he wanted. He said that the reaction they gave during his post-Royal Rumble beatdown was bigger “than what I thought it was gonna be.”

Edge has praised Orton in the past as one of the best in the business, so it was no surprise he chose him as his WrestleMania opponent.
