Edge ‘Removed’ From Smackdown For Sad Reason

With such a build up since he came back to WWE during the Royal Rumble, why hasn’t Edge been frequent on WWE? He seemed so played up and WWE may already be dropping the ball. Sadly, Edge is another part timer. Roman Reigns vs. Daniel Bryan Was ‘Ruined’ On Smackdown?

On the most recent episode of the hit podcast, ‘The Nitty Gritty Dirt Sheet,’ our two best sources to any and everything professional wrestling, Billi Bhatti and Vince Russo weigh in on what is happening in the crazy world of sports entertainment. We will be discussing why Edge isn’t very active right now. Let’s dive into this.

At this point in the show, Vince and Billi are coming out from discussing the most recent WrestleMania and what could be in store for next year’s. The two then start discussing contractual agreements for Edge.

Bhatti: “He’s under what’s called a ‘Taker contract.’ You work whenever you want to work, you work with whoever you want to work with, and you have creative control over you story. Edge has a ‘Taker contract’. Everything that happened at WrestleMania was designed and booked (with everyone else) by Edge.”

Bhatti continues: “While the original plan was to have Seth, Roman, and Bryan to have the match to have two very clear heels, and to get Roman babyface. Think about the YEStleMania where everyone wanted Bryan to win. They were trying to recreate that. Edge thought he could be the heel to make people desperate enough to want to see Bryan win. That didn’t work.”
