A Bray Wyatt match leading to a Randy Orton death storyline rumor was just detailed yesterday. On the latest episode of the “Nitty Gritty Dirt Show” on RussosBrand.com, host Billi Bhatti and former WWE writer Vince Russo, discussed how after revealing that the now canceled original plan for the upcoming WWE Fastlane pay-per-view, was to cumulate in a Randy Orton/Bray Wyatt gimmick match where ‘The Fiend’ would essentially ‘kill off’ Orton it would be Edge that would have saved ‘The Viper’ from his ultimate demise. Wrestling-Edge transcribed Bhatti’s comments below.

Bhatti: The reason why he [Randy Orton] would have come back the very next day and the story that was explained to me is that the person that would save Randy Orton from his death at the hands of the Fiend was supposed to be Edge. Edge was supposed to say: “If anybody is going to get rid of Randy Orton, it’s me – not the Fiend’.

So if you’re wondering who saved Randy Orton from whatever was going to happen to him at the end of WWE Fastlane when they blew off the end of that feud, Edge was going to save Randy Orton because he wants to save Randy Orton. That is what I was told and that is completely plausible to me.

Many fans have been awaiting a Bray Wyatt return. In other news regarding ‘The Ultimate Opportunist’, according to a new report by The Wrestling Observer Newsletter Edge has been lobbying for a match against former WWE Champion Daniel Bryan.

While the plan for the 2021 men’s Royal Rumble winner is for him to face ‘The Tribal Chief’ Roman Reigns for the WWE Universal Championship at WrestleMania 37, Edge wants to face Bryan at some point during this year. Edge’s NXT appearance got beat by this AEW wedding in the quarter-hour ratings.
