Edge Rumored To Face Big Name At WrestleMania 37

In a series of deleted tweets by RussosBrand.com Nitty Gritty Dirt sheet co-host Billi Bhatti, Bhatti discussed how recent winner of the Men’s Royal Rumble match, ‘The Ultimate Opportunist’ Edge will most likely be facing Drew McIntyre at WrestleMania 37 in Tampa Bay, Florida on April 10-11th and not Roman Reigns. Dave Meltzer though is countering this report, stating Edge will challenge Reigns. A match with Reigns makes more sense, due to face vs. heel dynamic, but we’ll have to see. This year’s WrestleMania will be taking place at Raymond James Stadium. Bhatti tweeted out the following. A major injury during the 2021 Royal Rumble was recently clarified

“Was going to save this for my website, but it’s too ridiculous not to share. Seth Rollins botched the ending of the #RoyalRumble #RoyalRumble2021. Look at their faces when Rollins goes out.”

“He was supposed to win. He was meant to be holding on, with one foot on the floor. Edge was meant to get RKO’d, then reverse the elimination – which they did – but then Rollins was meant to still be in to get rid of Edge. Probably didn’t matter, [Edge was going to face McIntyre anyways].” The last portion of the quote was paraphrased.

Bhatti continued saying how plans changes continuously, talking about how former WWE champions Daniel Bryan and Seth Rollins were at one time scheduled to win the event. This information is counter to what WrestlingINC owner Raj Giri was saying however, as he was correctly DMing fans via Twitter that Edge was going to win the men’s Royal Rumble and Bianca Belair would win the women’s Rumble.

“Plan was to face Bryan. Think Rollins would’ve lost the shot on road to WrestleMania. Maybe career vs title shot, but that’s speculating. Shit flip-flopped all week, Was Bryan for a month. The Rollins plan was decided on the day. Edge was winning at one point too.”

A fan tweeted Bhatti, “Not a chance he was supposed to win. Him/Roman and him/Drew have been done to death. Edge had his return story, and having him in at No.1 and talking about getting back what he never lost was the writing on the wall. Maybe Rollins didn’t exit as planned, but no way was he to win.”

Bhatti shot back, “And know more than me? With your incredible track record for years and years. And Rollins just went from 20/1 to odds on favourite for no reason? Same thing that’s happened with the winner for 8 years! He wasn’t facing Drew, obviously! I don’t even think he was getting the shot.”
