Edge made his return during this year’s Royal Rumble and now he will be working with the company for the next three years. He is currently engaged in a feud with Randy Orton and will face him at WrestleMania this year.
He spoke on a WrestleMania 36 conference call, where he was asked about the current roster of NXT Superstars. He talked about his relationship with Tommaso Ciampa. They both have undergone neck surgeries. Edge also mentioned other NXT Superstars who have piqued his interest.
“Obviously (Tommaso) Ciampa and I have a very close relationship, we’re both ‘neck’ guys for a lack of a better term. So he’s picking his brain a lot and I love it because he cares a lot and he’ll try the ideas too.”
“I love [Johnny] Gargano. To me, ‘the guy’ who is dialed in and completely found what it is that he’s supposed to do is Finn Balor. It’s exciting to watch him right now. To me, he and Gargano set the template for what an NXT match should be going forward.”
Edge will wrestle three matches every year for the duration of his WWE contract. He already has two covered, so we will have to see which will be the final match for him this year.
