On the latest episode of the “Nitty Gritty Dirt Show” on RussosBrand.com, host Billi Bhatti and former WWE writer Vince Russo, discussed how the current plan is go ahead with Edge Vs. Drew McIntyre to close out night two of WrestleMania 37. Wrestling-Edge transcribed Bhatti’s comments below. CM Punk recently dropped this Edge WrestleMania bombshell.
Bhatti: Contrary to what everybody is saying, which is most people it’s Edge Vs. Drew [McIntyre] right now to close out night two. So much so that they have the story arc here being for Edge to make his decision off the back of the Elimination Chamber where Drew is going to get through all of these guys but I think Roman is going to get through a bunch of guys as well – so I wouldn’t read too much into that.
In other news regarding ‘The Ultimate Opportunist’ Edge, current NXT Champion Finn Baylor recently spoke to the possibility of facing the 2021 Royal Rumble winner in a potential match one day.
“[He’s] one of the people I really admire for how gracefully he transitioned out of WWE and moved on to that next step of his life,” Balor said of Edge. “We had spoken about that in depth many times, so to see him back now is very, very surreal. I never even entertained the possibility of us working together with his situation.
“For me, it’s very exciting. Obviously, I’ve gotten to be in the ring with all of the top guys in WWE, and Edge is the one I have not been in the ring with, so that’s a box I want to check. And if we can do it at WrestleMania, all the better.” Edge discussed on why WrestleMania 36 match against Randy Orton was hard for him not too long ago.
