Emma reportedly released due to backstage heat

We noted before how WWE surprised everyone by releasing Emma, Darren Young, and Summer Rae from their contracts this past Sunday, just a few weeks prior to the Survivor Series event.

Out of these three, the release of Emma was presumably the most surprising as she was not only featured regularly on WWE programming in recent times but she also got a spot at the recent TLC PPV when she competed against Asuka.

Now it appears that WWE had more reasons to let Emma go other than the budget cuts which have been the motive behind some major decisions from the company in recent times.

According to a report from Sports Illustrated, the Raw Star had made enough ‘enemies’ on the writing team and the way she voiced her opinions on twitter only made things worse. Here is an excerpt from the report:

Emma created just enough enemies on the writing staff, which she exacerbated from the way she voiced her opinion on Twitter. The doors remain open for a return, but her exit from the company is viewed by some as addition by subtraction in the locker room.

The reports of Emma having backstage heat are interesting and they might just explain why she was chosen to lose to Asuka twice in the TLC week and then was released by the company shortly afterward.

We’ll keep you posted if any more details about her departure comes to light.
