Eric Bischoff and Paul Heyman officially named Executive Directors of WWE

In a shocking turn of events, Sports Illustrated reports that WWE has named Eric Bischoff and Paul Heyman as Executive Directors of the company. WWE has now confirmed the news with an official announcement through Twitter and their official website.

Eric Bischoff will take up the role of “Executive Director” for SmackDown LIVE while Paul Heyman will oversee Monday Night RAW in the same role. Furthermore, each individual will work directly under Vince McMahon himself.

Regarding Eric Bischoff’s role on SmackDown LIVE, he will also be in direct touch with the Executives at FOX and will work alongside them when the show debuts on FOX Sports in October of this year.

The three men who were once arch-rivals to one another during the iconic Monday Night Wars will now work together to bring about a renewed prosperity within the WWE. This move could have been made due to several reasons including the arrival of the hot new mega-promotion AEW.

It will be interesting to see how Paul Heyman, Eric Bischoff and Vince McMahon – three men who have been called geniuses of the business – work together in today’s era.

Just put on a good show.. I hope they have enough power to make changes

  • R.T. Red

Exactly! Couldn’t have said it better!

  • Nicholas Giambattista

Could we see the return of WCW when Smackdown moves to Fox.

  • rob

This is only interesting if they have real autority and can make some creative decisions, if not, then is pointless

  • CC

Well I am gonna hope for the best with this instead of shooting it down. WWE product has been so bad for so long that if they improve things we win. If it all goes wrong or changes nothing, what have we lost?
Not gonna get too excited, but at least gonna give it a chance before I write it off.

  • Rinn13

    Yeah, that’s gonna last.

  • Will Henderson

but will they become the on-screen authority figures that tries to run the show outside of the McMahon’s on WWE TV.

  • Mike the Ike

I was just going to say that exact thing.

  • James 123

Nothing will change as long as the old man has the final say.
