Former President Donald Trump’s son Eric Trump recently alarmed the fans on Tuesday that hackers infiltrated the X accounts of his wife Lara Trump, also co-chair of the Republican National Committee, and sister Tiffany Trump, posting fake content promoting a shady cryptocurrency venture via Mediaite.
The phony posts claimed the family was finally launching its cryptocurrency project called World Liberty Financial.
“This is a scam!!!” Eric Trump fired off on X, confirming that both accounts had been “compromised,” and the fraudulent posts were deleted.
The Trump name already closely linked to the cryptocurrency world after the former president dubbing himself the first “crypto president,” this breach couldn’t have come at a worse time.
Former President’s recent video did tease the imminent launch of World Liberty Financial, a venture that’s been in the works but has yet to officially debut.
An official account for World Liberty Financial soon issued a warning to its followers: “ALERT: Lara’s and Tiffany Trump’s X accounts have been hacked. Do NOT click on any links or purchase any tokens shared from their profiles.”
It has been noted that Eric then praised X, which he called Twitter, for their prompt response and reported the accounts were locked down “within minutes.”
ALERT: Lara’s and Tiffany Trump's X accounts have been hacked. Do NOT click on any links or purchase any tokens shared from their profiles. We're actively working to fix this, but please stay vigilant and avoid scams!
