Ex-NFL player challenges Batista to a MMA fight

Ex-NFL player Shawne Merriman challenged Batista to an MMA fight as he is getting ready for one of his biggest and maybe the last match of his professional wrestling career.

Merriman is sure that people will be interested in watching a fight between him and Batista. He told TMZ Sports: “He looks good, man. I know that people will watch that. I know people wanna see that. If he was down to do it, I would do it in a second. I wouldn’t even question that one.”

This wouldn’t be very new for The Animal as he has had a mixed martial arts career of his own, albeit a very short one. He defeated 40-fight veteran Vince Lucero via TKO in 4:05 minutes at the CES MMA: Real Pain event on October 1, 2012.

Batista will be battling Triple H in a No Holds Barred Match this Sunday as he attempts to retire The Game from wrestling, which was one of Batista’s stipulations if Triple H loses.

“I know he’s got other stuff going on,” Merriman added. “But why not give the people something they want to see.”
