Ex-WWE Champion Banned From Crown Jewel

MVP is unlikely to be a part of WWE Crown Jewel Premium Live Event. He has been serving as the manager of Omos who is set to face Braun Strowman at the Saudi-Arabian event.

MVP is set to miss Crown Jewel

On the latest edition of WWE Friday Night SmackDown, ‘The Monster Among Men’ had a little warmup before his match for Crown Jewel. MVP appeared on Smackdown yesterday and claimed that Omos would destroy Strowman. After taking everyone down, Strowman destroyed MVP with multiple running power slams.

MVP will not be in Saudi Arabia to support Omos at Crown Jewel. MVP’s spot with Braun Strowman was to explain why he wouldn’t be there. Sean Sapp reported the reason for this behind Fightful’s paywall. Apparently, MVP is a former Muslim who has turned into an atheist, which is punishable in Saudi Arabia.

MVP did not make the trip to Saudi Arabia, and his spot with Braun Strowman was to help explain why he wouldn’t be there. In actuality, MVP is a former muslim turned athiest, which is punishable in Saudi Arabia.

Another star who will miss the show is The Honorary Uce of The Bloodline, Sami Zayn. Dave Meltzer recently discussed the upcoming Saudi Arabia event on Wrestling Observer Radio. He confirmed that Zayn very likley won’t be there. Meltzer noted that the company didn’t want him there before, so that’s highly unlikely to change. For those who are not aware, Zayn is a Syrian Muslim, and his Sami For Syria charity does a lot to help out those people in terms of medical accessibility.
Saudi Arabia and Syria have tumultuous international relations and this was enough for Saudi Arabia to make a request that Zayn stay at home, something that was done years ago when their WWE deal first kicked off. Interestingly enough, the only other star that Saudi Arabia requested WWE not bring was Malakai Black, because they didn’t like his religious-themed tattoos.
