Ex-WWE Champion Is Quitting After SummerSlam

Ronda Rousey’s return to WWE during the 2022 Royal Rumble event generated significant excitement, but her subsequent run in the company has faced challenges. Despite winning the Smackdown Women’s Championship twice since her return, Rousey has failed to garner the desired reactions from the fans, and it seems her WWE tenure is nearing its end.

During the Money In The Bank Premium Live Event, Shayna Baszler attacked Rousey in the final moments of the match, leading to Raquel and Morgan recapturing the WWE Women’s Tag Team Titles. This attack has set the stage for a highly anticipated MMA Rules match between Rousey and Baszler at the WWE SummerSlam Premium Live Event.

According to Dave Meltzer in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, there is no official confirmation of whether SummerSlam will be Rousey’s last match in WWE for the time being. However, it is widely expected that her departure from the company is imminent, as the storyline involving Baszler had to be rushed to accommodate her impending exit.

“It’s not confirmed whether this is Rousey’s last match in WWE for the time being, but her departure is coming relatively soon since they had to rush the turn angle.”

WWE had to expedite their plans for Ronda Rousey due to the situation, which suggests that the company may already be aware of her decision to part ways relatively soon. As fans eagerly anticipate the outcome of the Rousey vs. Baszler matchup, speculation continues to swirl about Rousey’s future in WWE.
