Ex-WWE Champion Removed From Royal Rumble

Fans of ‘The Scottish Warrior’ Drew Mcintyre will have to be without their beloved former WWE Champion for quite some time. Mcintyre was written off the television in a brutal manner at the hands of Happy Corbin and Madcap Moss during the WWE Day 1 Premium Live Event. This WWE female star recently made a bold claim about Drew Mcintyre.

This was because McIntyre suffered injuries, which were not yet known at the time. However, it was revealed that McIntyre will miss considerable action with a neck injury. According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, while the belief is that while the Scottish Warrior could be back for WrestleMania 38, he is expected to miss out on this year’s Royal Rumble match.

McIntyre was a mainstay for WWE during the pandemic where he would defeat Brock Lesnar to capture the WWE Championship in the main event of WWE WrestleMania 36, airing on February 5th, 2020. McIntyre would also defend the championship on the exact same night against The Big Show. However, that match would be shown the following night on WWE Monday Night Raw. ‘The Scottish Warrior’ would hold this title until the Hell in a Cell pay-per-view on October 25th where McIntyre lost to ‘The Viper’ Randy Orton in a Hell in a Cell match for the championship, ending McIntyre’s first reign at 203 days (202 days as recognized by WWE) and first loss in 2020.

McIntyre would regain the championship once again in a no disqualification match on the November 16th edition holding it until February 21, 2021 where he would lose ‘The Miz’, who would have cashed in on his ‘Money in the Bank’ briefcase clause to earn a championship matchup against Drew as soon as he defended his title against AJ Styles, Jeff Hardy, Kofi Kingston, Randy Orton, and Sheamus in an aforementioned Elimination Chamber match.
