Finn Balor: I Feel If I Was Called Up To The Main Roster It Would Be A Step Back For My Career

Current NXT Champion Finn Bálor recently appeared on Sam Roberts’ Wrestling Podcast and during that interview, he was asked if he wants to be called up to the main roster. Here is what he had to say:

“I really believe that what we’re doing here in the [WWE] Performance Center [and] what we’re doing with NXT is something that’s going to be remembered for years. I feel like to get quote, unquote called up to the main roster would be, maybe, like a step back for my career right [now]. Obviously, instant gratification, you get called up to the main roster, that’s great, but I think what we’re doing here in NXT will stand longer in history as kind of like a revolutionary period and to kind of pull myself out of that would be detrimental to my career in the long term.”

The problem with your thinking (the ” bland and dry” main roster) is your making the assumption that the main roster has a talent problem… Nothing could be farther from the truth. The main roster has a Creative problem they have the talent but it’s beinf wasted on some God-awful horrible storylines and mismanagement. Bringing up anyone else is just going to get us more of the same right now.

I agree, but also disagree with him. I see his point and what he’s saying, but I feel that being in NXT, shouldn’t be a “long time thing”. I like NXT because of all the new talent and wouldn’t really like to see such repetiviness like on the main roster. The main roster, is getting sort of bland and dry and I feel it really needs some of these “hungry” guys from NXT, to liven it up. But that is also a double edge sword. Bc, with a lot of these guys, the main roster could kill there career. I think that WWE, really needs to start hiring, actual wrestling fans and knowledgeable people for its team.
