Finn Balor ‘Pulled’ From WrestleMania Match

Finn Balor fans won’t be happy with this news. In a somewhat surprising turn, it is being reported by WrestleTalk and Louis Dangoor on Wrestling Daily there are currently no plans whatsoever, as of this moment to have either current NXT Champion Finn Balor or current NXT Women’s Champion Io Shirai defend their respective championships at WrestleMania 37. Finn Balor recently revealed he desires to compete against this former champion.

While Finn Balor has recently teased going up against big name opponents at ‘The Show of Shows’ and Io Shirai has made her intentions known that she would like to face former WWE Smackdown Women’s champion, Bayley, as of this report there is currently nothing in the cards for either individual when it comes to WrestleMania 37. However, as it goes in the world of professional wrestling – the card is subject to change.

In other news regarding Finn Balor, NXT’s resident ‘Demon’ recollected his short-lived run as WWE Universal Champion. Balor had to forfeit his newly won WWE Universal Championship due to his injury back in 2016. He told the following comments to Bleacher Report.

“It happened, it was part of my story, and it was part of my growth,” he said. “Going back to checking the boxes, I’m like this 14-year-old kid from Ireland with this dream to be WWE champion and I did it at SummerSlam, and I beat Roman Reigns in my debut on Raw and then Seth Rollins to win the title. Like, where can you go from there? You got to look at the positives and really that was it.

“That was the top of the mountain for me. I got there, it got taken away from me early, whatever, it happened exactly the way it was supposed to happen for me. I learned a lot from it and maybe I would’ve been in a lot worse position now if I had that run people feel I was robbed of. Paul Heyman posted this Finn Baylor NXT spoiler.

“It’s part of my story, it’s made me a stronger person, and I’m not resentful for that at all.”
