First half hour of Evolution to be broadcasted on Twitter, which match will main event the show?

WWE announced today that the first half hour of the upcoming Evolution PPV will be broadcasted Live on Twitter, apart from being Live on WWE Network.

The company made the announcement through a press release, revealing that people will be able to watch the live stream through their official handle and more:

Beginning at 7 p.m. ET, the first 30 minutes of Evolution will be simulcast on the social media site — a first for a WWE pay-per-view. The stream will be carried by the @WWE handle as well as @TwitterLive and @TwitterSports, with custom emoji for the hashtags #WWEEvolution, #RondaRousey and #NikkiBella.

On a related note, Wrestling Observer Newsletter revealed that the match between Ronda Rousey and Nikki Bella will be the bout that will main event the upcoming show.

Furthermore, the Newsletter reveals that this duo has actually been rehearsing their match in the past week to “make sure it goes over well in the main event position.”

The women choose their ring gear.

As far as an all female show, you never know, it might be a success, it might not. Whatever audience is watching Total Divas/Total Bellas might want to tune in because they dont want to spend 3 hrs watching Raw if they have no interest in the male performers, which is 2/3 of the show or 2 hrs of SD Live if the women are only featured for half of it.

A 1 hr show dedicated to the female superstars alternating between each brand each week advancing storylines that are featured on the main shows could be the way to go for starters. They could be like the old Saturday Shotgun and Sunday Heat shows where the mid card performers have some tv time and then show recaps of events that happened on the branded shows.

If the audience then decide to follow whats going on on Raw and SD then WWE have done their job and just pulled in new viewers they didnt have before.

It was reported months ago that this would be the main event because the felt it would get the most mainstream attention. They spent all of this money and sacrificed people on RAW to Ronda for a moment like this thinking it will give them more attention, and no one outside of wrestling is talking about this. They need to stick to what they do best and quit trying to cross over so much.

Does anybody really think that an all women’s show, over an extended time, would be a ratings success? Sorry if you do but it has been proven time and time again that women sports (LPG,WNBA) just don’t generate interest, even the UFC can’t sell PPV,s with women headlining, outside of RR. Their great as a side show but not as the whole show. If it was really about their ability then eliminate the sexy outfits.

I do not think anyone expects anything other than the Rousey/Bella match to be the headliner. Do not really need the wrestling new observer to tell us that,
