Floyd Mayweather keeps Gervonta Davis away from other promotions

He was clear about his intention of not matching Tank against non-PBC and Mayweather Promotions fighters.Mayweather said Tank will remain an in-house fighter.

Here is what he had to say:

“The team will take care of that. Our thing is this, ‘We work smarter, not harder.’ We keep everything in-house, Mayweather Promotions, PBC, we’re all one family.

We’re not going to go nowhere and make another company great. So we got plenty of fighters at 140, 135, and 130 that we’re going to continue to fight the fighters that we’ve got to fight.”

Barrios had a comeback and battled it well in the ninth and tenth rounds. He caught Gervonta with hard shots to the head.

In the eleventh round Davis had dropped Barrios with a left to the body and then landed a couple of more shots. Thus, the referee stepped in and stopped the fight giving ‘Tank’ the win.

As Mayweather said that Tank will not be allowed to fight boxers from outside promotional companies, it means the Tank will not be able to share the ring with the following fighters:

  • Vasily Lomachenko
  • Ryan Garcia
  • Devin Haney
  • Shakur Stevenson
  • Oscar Valdez
  • Josh Taylor
  • Jose Ramirez
  • Regis Prograis
