Floyd Mayweather Fight Bombed In Ticket Sales

Chael Sonnen recently claimed that the bout between boxing legend Floyd Mayweather and former UFC Double Champion Conor McGregor was not as in demand as it was believed to be. Sonnen, who was in attendance for the event, revealed that there were “thousands of empty seats” at the T-Mobile Arena when the crossover bout dubbed ‘The Money Fight’ took place. Party Photos of Conor McGregor’s Daughter was also recently revealed.

Chael Sonnen opens up on the potential bout

In a recent episode of his YouTube show, ‘The American Gangster’ said that he loved the idea of the potential bout but he revealed that the stars wanted to go at it again but that didn’t happen:

“I loved the Floyd [Mayweather] and Conor [McGregor] thing. [But] there has never been a story in sports history that I witnessed with my own eyes to be as misrepresented and mistold as that. I was there for it live. There were thousands of empty seats. You will not read that anywhere. Anybody who talks about that fight [says], ‘It was an absolute sell-out’. It was a blockbuster success. It was a big hit. Both those guys wanted to do it again and nobody wanted to make that fight again.”

Mayweather had extended his professional boxing undefeated streak to 50 victories and 0 defeats (50–0) and also surpassed the 49–0 record of Hall of Famer Rocky Marciano, after defeating McGregor by technical knockout (TKO) in the 10th round.

Mayweather’s guaranteed disclosed paycheck was $100 million and McGregor’s guaranteed disclosed paycheck was $30 million. However, the purse for the two fighters was expected to be substantially higher for each, with Mayweather reportedly earning $280 million from the fight and McGregor earning $130 million
