Dave Meltzer revealed that after poor PPV pre-buys, Floyd Mayweather vs. Logan Paul did well with last minute buys.
He tweeted that it did way better than AEW Double or Nothing, “Mayweather-Logan Paul TV PPV numbers look very big. Unlike with wrestling where 80 percent or so buy day of, with this show it was closer to 98.5 percent. Earliest numbers for US TV, not including streaming, are 13x Double or Nothing.” Double or Nothing got 130-150,000 buys, so you do the math.
The former boxing star Oscar de la Hoya and Triller CEO Ryan Kavanaugh appeared to be playing damage control in a new video. They trashed Floyd Mayweather vs. Logan Paul on Showtime as the ‘worst fight ever.’
The hype that was built for the match did not yield a return when the two stars went head to head in the ring. Triller has lost Jake Paul, so they’re probably melting down over sour grapes. Logan Paul ‘Cries’ After Mayweather Beatdown In Video
Oscar de la Hoya opens up on the bout
Oscar went on to share his thoughts on tbe match and said, “It was pretty sad.” He said it shouldn’t have been outside, as the rain hurt the pay-per-view in Miami.
Ryan Kavanaugh said, “He’s going to fight Mayweather for real.”
Oscar responded, “We’ll do it on Triller.”
The fans were expecting much more action during the match and did not see Logan survive all the eight rounds. The undefeated boxing legend, Floyd ‘Money’ Mayweather Jr. was expected to KO the YouTube star but that did not happen.
There could be a possibility that they might clash in the ring for another bout in the future. We will see if it takes place.
